Controlled Chaos, A Family Business

My family has always been passionate about helping dogs become great companions. For the last several years, my dad has owned a dog training business. During the start of the pandemic, he employed me when business got more challenging. Originally hired to do office work, I quickly started photographing the dogs and their training process. When he used these photos for social media, the business grew rapidly. The clients appreciate seeing updates as their pups go through the process, especially when they stay with us for two weeks.

Watching my dad train dogs, I always see such patience and the building of strong relationships. A lot of the dogs that come through are rescues with traumatic histories and can be very anxious and aggressive. Each dog is different. From the beginning, you have to learn what their triggers and fears are in order to gain their trust. It’s incredible to see how in tune my dad is with the dogs. He picks up on their behaviors very quickly, working through their issues from the beginning, helping the dogs train faster.

At times we have eight or more dogs in our house. Some say we’re insane, but we call it controlled chaos. We have helped many families enjoy their dogs again, build better relationships, and for many, save them from being euthanized. It’s hard work and very rewarding.
